Livelihood Projects

Helping households build more secure and diverse ways to earn.

Livelihoods affect almost every part of family wellbeing. We support communities to strengthen practical income opportunities through farming, livestock, skills, enterprise and small business.

Why this matters

The challenge is rarely one-dimensional.

When household income is insecure, families can struggle to meet everyday needs, invest in education and health, or recover from economic and environmental shocks. Limited skills, weak market links and dependence on a single source of income can deepen that vulnerability.

Our response

Practical support, shaped with communities.

Bridge For Change works with communities to identify livelihood opportunities that reflect local realities. Our role is to strengthen practical skills, enterprise capability, production and market connections so people have more options to earn, adapt and plan for the future.

Community participation

People closest to the issue help shape the response.

Livelihood programmes must make sense in the local economy. We therefore work with communities to understand existing skills, resources, markets and constraints before shaping support. This helps avoid one-size-fits-all interventions and builds on what people are already doing.

We use dialogue, local partnerships, feedback and learning throughout implementation so programmes can respond to changing needs and remain accountable to the people they are intended to support.
