Learning & accountability

Good programmes should keep learning from the people they serve.

Bridge For Change uses community feedback, monitoring, evidence and transparent reporting to understand progress, strengthen decisions and improve programme delivery.

How we learn

Evidence is most useful when it leads to better decisions.

Our accountability approach is grounded in the same principles described on the original Bridge For Change site: feedback systems, community monitoring and transparent reporting.

01

Community Feedback

Listening to participants and local stakeholders helps us understand whether programmes are relevant, accessible and responsive.

02

Monitoring

Tracking implementation and agreed indicators helps teams understand progress, challenges and areas needing attention.

03

Learning

Programme experience and evidence are used to adapt delivery, improve design and strengthen future decisions.

04

Transparent Reporting

Clear communication helps communities, partners and supporters understand what was done, what changed and what remains to be learned.

What we look at

From activities to meaningful change.

Numbers tell us how much was delivered. Community experience helps us understand whether it mattered.

Our impact approach considers reach, participation, changes in skills or capability, access to opportunity, wellbeing, local ownership and the strength of community systems around an intervention.

Different programmes require different measures, but the question remains consistent: what changed for people, and what helped that change happen?

Accountability to communities

Feedback should have somewhere to go.

Community engagement is meaningful only when people can raise concerns, share experiences and influence how programmes are delivered.

01

Share information

Help communities understand the purpose of programmes, what support is available and what to expect.

↗
02

Create feedback channels

Provide appropriate ways for participants and stakeholders to share concerns, suggestions and experiences.

↗
03

Respond & adapt

Use feedback as an input to programme decisions rather than collecting it without action.

↗
04

Protect dignity

Handle feedback, stories and personal information in ways that respect privacy, safety and safeguarding.

↗
05

Document learning

Capture lessons so useful experience can strengthen future programmes and partnerships.

↗
06

Report clearly

Communicate progress honestly, including what worked, what did not and what will change next.
