Ongoing initiative

Digital Pathways

Digital Pathways is an ongoing Bridge For Change initiative focused on digital inclusion — helping people strengthen practical skills, confidence and access to opportunities that increasingly depend on technology.

Why this work matters

Responding to a practical community need.

Digital tools increasingly shape access to learning, work, services, markets and information. People with limited access or confidence can be excluded even when opportunities technically exist.

Digital Pathways focuses on practical, usable digital capability. The initiative links skills development with the everyday contexts in which people use technology — learning, employment, enterprise, communication and access to information.

Across the project, our emphasis is on participation, practical action, local partnerships and learning. These principles help ensure the work remains relevant to the people it is intended to support.

Project priorities

What the initiative seeks to strengthen.

The project brings together several connected areas of action rather than treating the challenge as a single issue.

01

Digital confidence

Helping participants become more comfortable using everyday digital tools.

↗
02

Practical skills

Focusing on capabilities people can apply to learning, work and daily life.

↗
03

Employability

Connecting digital learning to workplace readiness and opportunity.

↗
04

Enterprise

Helping small businesses and entrepreneurs use digital tools more effectively.

↗
05

Access to information

Strengthening people’s ability to find, evaluate and use online information.

↗
06

Safe participation

Promoting responsible and safer use of digital platforms.

↗
Understanding progress

Looking beyond activities to meaningful change.

We use community feedback and project evidence to understand what is changing, where barriers remain and what the initiative should strengthen next.

01
Skills in useWhether participants apply digital skills in practical contexts.
02
ConfidenceWhether people become more comfortable navigating digital tools independently.
03
Access to opportunityWhether digital capability improves links to learning, work, services or enterprise.
04
InclusionWhether participants feel less excluded from increasingly digital systems.
Community participation

Local knowledge is part of the project.

Bridge For Change works with communities as partners in implementation and learning, not simply as recipients of support.

Dialogue, feedback and local relationships help us understand whether the project is relevant, accessible and responsive to the realities people face. This also strengthens ownership and helps identify what can be sustained over time.
