Ongoing initiative

Faces of Hope

Faces of Hope is an ongoing Bridge For Change initiative focused on restoring confidence, connection and opportunity for people and communities facing vulnerability.

Dignity, inclusion & opportunity Community-led approach Bridge For Change project
Why this work matters

Responding to a practical community need.

People experiencing social or economic vulnerability can be defined too easily by the challenges they face. This can deepen exclusion and reduce access to the relationships, opportunities and support that help people move forward.

Faces of Hope places dignity at the centre of engagement. The initiative is designed to strengthen connection, recognise people’s strengths and create practical links to wider support and opportunity.

Across the project, our emphasis is on participation, practical action, local partnerships and learning. These principles help ensure the work remains relevant to the people it is intended to support.

Project priorities

What the initiative seeks to strengthen.

The project brings together several connected areas of action rather than treating the challenge as a single issue.

01

Dignity

Ensuring people are engaged as individuals with strengths, aspirations and agency.

↗
02

Connection

Reducing isolation by strengthening relationships and community support.

↗
03

Opportunity

Helping participants connect to relevant learning, livelihood or support pathways.

↗
04

Confidence

Creating experiences that reinforce self-belief and possibility.

↗
05

Inclusion

Encouraging community attitudes and structures that reduce exclusion.

↗
06

Partnership

Linking community action with organisations able to provide complementary support.

↗
Understanding progress

Looking beyond activities to meaningful change.

We use community feedback and project evidence to understand what is changing, where barriers remain and what the initiative should strengthen next.

01
ConnectionWhether participants feel better supported and less isolated.
02
ConfidenceWhether people report stronger hope, self-belief and willingness to pursue opportunities.
03
AccessWhether participants connect to appropriate services, learning or livelihood pathways.
04
InclusionWhether community support around vulnerable people becomes stronger.
Community participation

Local knowledge is part of the project.

Bridge For Change works with communities as partners in implementation and learning, not simply as recipients of support.

Dialogue, feedback and local relationships help us understand whether the project is relevant, accessible and responsive to the realities people face. This also strengthens ownership and helps identify what can be sustained over time.
